Ashlynn's friends

Elijah and Jace came for a visit last week, Ashlynn was just playing a little hard to get here. We were just missing Eva and this little crew would have been complete.
You can see she was really happy they were here.

Our girls

Thanks to our parents and my sisters it has been a really mellow week around here. It's been awesome to have people here so there's always someone to pay attention to who ever needs it. I like that I get to be the one to feed Ashlynn so I get a lot of time to just stare at her. She is the cutest little thing, I can't believe how long I can just stare at her. I never thought having twins was that tough when they were newborns, now I'm really glad we did that first. It's pretty different for me just feeding and getting up in the night with one. I have a lot more time to admire her. It probably helps that I feel so much better after this birth too.

Adie and Eliza are having a fun week and getting a lot of play time with their Grandma's and aunts. Naps and bedtime have settled down for the most part. Today the little stinkers made me mad. I was here alone and feeding Ashlynn, so they thought they were cute and kept coming out of their room giggling. They would tip toe out and when I would glare at them (I was really mad, not just acting) they would run back in their room giggling. At one point Adie came out trying to hide and I heard Eliza in there counting to 10 and saying "ready or not..." Shows how scary I am. They ended up playing in there for an hour and a half without sleeping. Hopefully it's just a fluke.

Playing soccer

This was really cute. It was pretty cold out and they were squealing and laughing running out on the deck, then would come in and get warm by the fire and do it again. Adie in her undies and Eliza in her swimsuit.

Ashlynn Rose

She made it! Ashlynn was born Thursday the 18th. It was a pretty good birthday present for Ryan - he got a very sweet little girl, and her timing allowed him to get off work to sit in the hospital and watch March Madness for a couple of days. I was really happy I didn't have to have a c-section, I can't believe how much better I feel this time around. She was 8lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. So far she's just sleeping and eating and looking cute. Adie and Eliza are doing really well with everything. They stop and pay attention to her once in a while but for the most part are busy doing their own thing. When they do stop to talk to her they are very sweet. They pat her and talk to her "She loves me" "It's ok baby Ahslynn Wose, I'm right here" and give her little kisses and then go on their way. The tough part for them has been naps and bed time. The last couple of days there has been a lot of crying and wanting us to sleep with them. We're hoping it's a phase they'll be out of soon. watching Ashlynn get her first bath

Annie and Ila's visit

Annie and Ila made the long drive this weekend for a fun visit. The girls had a great time together - well Adie and Ila did. Eliza tried, she was pretty sick (croup) all weekend and didn't have the energy to have fun. It worked out well for me that Adie had someone to play with -she was in heaven. Eliza was attached to me whining most of the time. Adie ate it up though, she loved getting time alone with Annie and Ila. Since they left Adie has been asking when her friend Ila is coming back again. It's crazy how when they were babies the age difference seemed so huge, and every time we see them now the gap doesn't seem quite so big.
It was a really nice weekend for them to be here - Annie pushed them all up the hill for a walk.

Looking at Ladybugs

Ila loved the chickens and getting the eggs every day. She even let them eat out of her hands. Adie tried to tell her she had to be careful and not get so close Adie tried to do a lot of informing this weekend "if you want your mama Annie to push you on the swing you have to say please" and "if you want to get down from the table you have to say may I be excused can I get down?" It's funny because she's not just letting her know, she repeats it pointing her fingers like she needs a response before she's satisfied.

They got a couple of trips to the swing

But this is what she looked like most of the weekend if she wasn't on my one-week-away-from- birth lap
It's a long trip to drive up here solo with a three year old (even though Ila is a good little traveler) so thank you thank you thank you Annie - we loved it and it happened to be a huge help this weekend.
I just realized I never mention Ryan - it's not like I have to take care of both girls, one sick, super pregnant by myself. He does a lot of playing with them too, Ila always wants him to chase her and she would bring him flowers and cookies while he was outside working -super sweet. Since Annie was here he was able to cut a few truck loads of wood from the trees he cut down last weekend, start to get the garden ready and get the lawn mowed. His next big project (that he's working on now as the girls sleep) is making our office into a bedroom. The projects seem never ending up here and I'm realizing that's the way he likes it - luckily he's good at it =)

More cousins

Saturday night everyone came over here for dinner. All of the girls - we missed Gus and Vinny!

Ila and Natalie's marching band

Kayla came right after her first soccer game - from what we hear she is quite the little stud

Grandpa Dean paid Kayla $2 to read to the little ones to settle them down. Notice most of them are stripped down. Whenever they are all here they run in circles through the house screaming and running as Uncle Ben Ben chases them and tries to trap them. Eliza perked up enough to join for a little while (as I'm writing this on Sunday she is already on her second long nap for the day, so hopefully on the mend).

Triple Horsie rides with Grandpa. Ryan and I were sitting on the deck with a very miserable sick little Eliza and could hear them all laughing in the house.

And this is Kayla trying to read to the unruly little ones...She did get them settled down - Good job Kayla!
