Updates

Ashlynn had her 18 month check up today. She's a pretty normal 18 month old, just as we suspected: she's starting to talk more and more, she realizes she can stomp and whine to try and get what she wants (and sometimes it works), she still doesn't sleep great, she's affectionate, she's a physical little thing - climbing, running, jumping off of chairs, playing ball, and we think she's about the funniest little girl out there but I know that's hard for other people to see when they aren't around her much as she rarely makes a peep when she's around other people, and she's a good eater even though she's still a peanut (20 lbs, 5th percentile). She loves her fruit and we have A LOT of it around here right now. The other day I had pealed her a tangerine and she was eating it one slice at a time, until Adie and Eliza came and sat down by us. When she saw them coming she shoved as many pieces in her mouth as fast as she could before they could get any.

She's doing great using the toilet, she's now going every time we have her sit there. She doesn't hold it or anything yet, but she has gone in a few times on her own if she doesn't have a diaper on. A and E are loving it too because they get a treat when she goes so they are always in there cheering her on and giving her a water bottle to make sure something comes out.

She had a sweet obsession with my dad (Bampa) for about two weeks. Here she is kissing his picture - she wouldn't let anyone turn the page and was doing things like calling for him from her crib when I wouldn't go get her. I think she needs to see him again (hint hint).

We've been busy getting our fruit and veggies processed, Adie and Eliza loved helping with the applesauce

A and E have been into getting exercise with me. So when I run they run with me (which is great for a lot of reasons, one being they are getting too heavy for me to push). They do really well and love it. They can usually run 10-15 minutes at a time, then sit in the jogger for a while then run again. They wave and smile at any runners/walkers that cross our path.

Ryan was in a car accident about a week and a half ago, no pictures but he's doing better. He's going back to work for the first time tomorrow. It's been so nice having him home, especially since he's had to take it pretty easy so the girls have been loving getting some play time with him. It wasn't his fault, wasn't in our car(test drive at work), and he doesn't have any major injuries so we're relieved with the outcome. The car was totaled and I really hope I never have to get another phone call telling me he's on his way to the emergency room again. It was a rough drive to the hospital for me not knowing anything more than he was there. It was obviously rough for him too, he did break the driver side window with his head, but at least he knew he was alive!

I got to spend a couple nights in Seattle with no kids and got to spend time with a dear old friend from Colorado, got some good time with the Lacey and Symons families - it was fun getting to actually pay attention to Eli and Eva since I don't get to when I've got mine with me. I came home relaxed, rested, and ready to stay up and listen to Ashlynn cry for hours for me tonight as I retrain her to sleep through the night (of course she slept great for Ryan while I was gone).

Life is good here with the Nisly Family!
